Take The Stress Out Of Moving With Lists

If you are thinking of moving, then there are some great tips that you can use to make the entire experience much less stressful. One of the best ways to take most of the stress out of your moving experience will be to get organized before the move takes place. You should consider some of these methods as being a way to get everything in order, so that your actual big move day will go as smoothly and as quickly as possible. With the right organization, you will be able to avoid any last minute problems which could extend your entire move by hours, or even an entire day depending on the circumstances.

The first step of organizing your move will be to make moving lists. These lists will differ by subject; the first will be a list of all of the rooms that need to be moved, and in what order those rooms should be packed. It may be a good idea to go from the rooms with the largest items first, down tot he rooms that have the smallest items, to make the loading process go smoothly. The second list will be inventories of each of those rooms. Again, choosing the largest objects first will be the best idea, as you will be sure that these items will have proper space on the moving truck.

You should also, if possible, consider how long moving each item will take. If you have a large dresser, for example, and are moving it from the first floor, out the door, and onto a truck, that could take you roughly five to ten minutes depending on how many obstacles are in the way. Smaller objects will be a minimum time of two minutes, but can be handled as quickly as one minute if they are light enough. There should be no rush when you are moving, as you do not want to damage any of your belongings, but keeping close to your projected time schedule can help you to make the move more efficient. Finally, remember to delegate your tasks to the people who are moving with you. If you have family members, then assign them with duties related to the move; from organizing packing materials, to making sure that fragile items get the care and attention that they deserve, delegation can make moving that much easier.
